Tzu'tzu
Location:
The Valley of Fire, Terra do Fogo and the Umbra.
Appearance:
Basically, they look like giant scarab beetles:
only they are lovely shades of precious gems, from a deep saphire, rich emerald, and vibrant ruby. They stand about as tall as a large horse, but because of the demensions of a beetle they are considerably wider. They have the ability to fly, their wings covered usually by a exoskeleton that's naturally decorative and attractive. They have pincher like mouths, and their forelegs are longer with small hooks on them. Their eyes are large and..well, for lack of better terms 'googly' and though they seem scary at first, their exoskeleton's make them to be beautiful creatures.
Being something of a large insect, they have a strength that surpasses a normal 'steed' and can carry burden's with ease.
Personality:
The Tzu'tzu are very sweet natured and loyal if raised correctly, and even the 'wild' ones are cautious and tend to veer away from any form of confrontation. They are herbavores, and extremely gentle. They like to 'sing' (think crickets!) and enjoy the company of other creatures as long as they don't intend any harm. Red Tzu'tzu's tend to be very energetic (and they are the most common found), green Tzu'tzu's seem to show signs that they are the more 'intelligent' of their kind, and blue Tzu'tzu's are extremely fast.
History:
The Tzu'tzu were raised and cultivated by the Jinn, who, in their love of beauty, took very good care of them and tended to them like children. The Tzu'tzu were spoiled little things and got all the cuddling you would expect a domesticated cat or dog to receive.
Now that the Jinn have been chased out of Illiria and back into the Umbra, the poor little Tzu'tzu have been lonely. Because their beloved 'family' (the Jinn) had been chased away, taking a few of their kind with them, they grew slightly bitter towards anyone who came near the ruins of the Jinn's great city within the Valley of Fire. To this day, the Tzu'tzu protect the ruins like a grave site, preventing it from dececration.
A few of the Tzu'tzu were taking along with the Jinn in their exile, and are being bred in the Umbra and Terra do Fogo, the majority remain in the Valley of Fire, ever loyal to their first 'family' by protecting the ruins.
