Paambo:
pronounced "pom-bo"
Appearance:
The Paambo are a race of panda humanoids. They tend to be about 6’ in height and are all of a muscular build due to their energetic nature. A Paambo’s torso and head are usually mostly white except for the black circles around their eyes. Their mid-backs are black as well as their arms and legs. Their round ears are also black. A Paambo’s eyes are usually black, though there have been a few Paambo seen that possess blue, brown or green eyes. They also have black noses and black mouths.
Personality:
The Paambo are a very energetic, zealous bunch. They are delightful characters that are always cheerful and lighthearted. They tend to laugh a lot and rarely take things seriously. About the only thing they take seriously is their training in the art of Doko Jen. A Paambo would rather talk things over and resolve conflict rather than start a fight. However, if you provoke one enough, they are formidable opponents.
History:
Paambo generally live quite peacefully in their homeland of Nien ko Paambo, located in the far northeast of the Air Region. The village is known for its farming and fishing businesses and many Paambo trek through the country as traveling merchants.
Most Paambo, however, are known for their superior fighting skills in the art of Doko Jen, a mysterious martial arts fighting style that incorporates dancing techniques. Only Paambo may learn this sacred art and once a year a grand tournament is held in the village to discern who is the ‘best of the best’.
Occasionally a scuffle will erupt between Nien ko Paambo and Estinon (another small town in the Air Region) over the region’s fishing industry.
The Paambo are said to be quite familiar with the Sylphs of Zephria.
The Elder of the Paambo is called Tokono and he has been overseeing his people for decades.
